Editorial Policy
This site publishes plain-English guidance for South African students navigating NSFAS: checking a status, using myNSFAS safely, submitting documents, signing the consent form, appealing a rejection, and following allowances, accommodation and TVET, postgraduate, international, SASSA, late-application and N+2 questions. Every article is written to answer one question properly, in the order a student actually faces it.
Sources
Articles are written from the NSFAS Status Check guide supplied for this site and from general official guidance published by NSFAS and institutions, including the official NSFAS website. Competitor articles are not copied. Where an article summarises an official process, such as the application evaluation steps or the appeal route, it says so in general terms and directs the reader to confirm the detail on myNSFAS or with their financial aid office.
What Is Left Out On Purpose
Figures, dates, deadlines, income thresholds and allowance amounts are published only when they can be verified from an official source. Where a detail could not be verified, it is left out rather than guessed, and the article says so plainly. That is why this site gives no allowance amounts or thresholds. One exception is stated openly wherever it appears: the WhatsApp number and USSD code shown in the shortcuts guide and on the Contact Us page were supplied for this guide, and every mention carries a warning to verify them on the official NSFAS website before use.
Original Writing And Independence
Articles are original writing for this site. They do not invent personal stories, testimonials, or experience the author does not have, and they do not claim that this site can log in, check a status, or make a funding decision. This site receives no payment from NSFAS, any institution, or any advertiser for its coverage, and no outside party edits its articles.
Updates
Articles are corrected when official guidance changes or when a reader reports a genuine error with an official source, following the Corrections Policy. Minor wording and clarity fixes are made without a log entry; changes to a funding rule, a date, a deadline or a status meaning are recorded in the corrections log.
